Night Shift Maintenance Technician


Petoskey Plastics is seeking a shift flexible Maintenance Technician who would be responsible for:

  • The maintenance of manufacturing equipment, both preventative and reactive
  • Performing equipment repairs as requested and prioritized by management
  • Working on PLCs
  • Recording all work activities in work order module
  • Shift flexible

    Job Location/Working Conditions:

    Production setting, operating standard manual and powered equipment including but not limited to welding, machining, power tools, and hand tools. Physically capable of standing 12 hours per day, frequent bending and twisting, reaching, lifting of approximately 50-100 lbs. and climbing up to 60' towers. Able to work in hot and cold conditions.


    • Two year technical degree and minimum 5 years industrial equipment maintenance experience in manufacturing
    • Mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatics, arc welding, gas welding, blue print reading, and cutting knowledge
    • Epicor or other Maintenance specific software database
    • Commitment to safety and quality
    • PLC programming and troubleshooting
    • Proven track record of excellent attendance
    • AC and DC Drive troubleshooting to the board level
    • Self-directed with good time management skills

    Production Shift Supervisor-Nights


    The Production Shift Manager is responsible for safely manufacturing quality products through the efficient use of manpower, materials, and equipment.  The Production Shift Manager directs the activities of the extrusion and converting/printing/recycle departments, promotes safe work practices, maintains production schedules and record keeping, and ensures quality standards are met.  This position plans work, makes assignments, assists in the hiring process, trains new employees, and administers company policies consistently.

    • Work only 15 days a month

      Project Engineer


      The Project Engineer is responsible for supporting company growth plans by scheduling, planning, forecasting and managing all technical activities aimed at assuring project accuracy and quality from conception to completion, on-time and within budget. The Project Engineer will drive improvement through researching technology and process/equipment optimizations, as well as potential upgrades to existing equipment. Responsible for supporting the manufacturing and maintenance teams. 

      Required License/ Certification Registration:

      • Valid license & passport

      Job Location/Working Conditions:

      • This position will be working from a manufacturing plant with travel to each of the other plants as needed, approximately 40% on production floor and 60% at desk.
      • Ability to climb towers of 75 ft., work in hot and cold temperatures, be able to lift +/- 50 pounds occasionally. 
      • Able to travel by car or airplane.
      • Approximately 50% travel required. 

      • BS degree in Engineering or relevant field
      • Hands-on mechanical and/or electrical experience
      • An understanding of various PLC platforms (ability to write programming is a plus)
      • Knowledge of plastics, blown film and printing
      • Knowledge of design and visualization software such as CAD

      Controls Technician


      Provide support and upgrades for electrical systems within the facility. Plan and improve electrical systems and controls jobs for manufacturing processes. Gather data to design systems, design equipment, procure materials, and work with vendors and subcontractors to complete projects. Works in conjunction with the Engineering Technician to achieve controls project goals and personal development.

      Required License/ Certification Registration:

      • Valid Driver's License

      Working Conditions/ Equipment:

      • Combination of office and manufacturing setting regularly exposed to dust, odors, oil, fumes and noise with some heavy lifting- moving equipment up to 100 lbs.
      • Occasional overnight air travel

      • Post-Secondary Education in Industrial Technology or related field
      • 2-5 years in electronic design with electronic circuit technology assembly processes
      • Electrical engineering design principles and methodologies
      • Experience with contractual related project work
      • Experience working with analog circuit simulation
      • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CAD software (AutoCAD preferred)

      Material Handler


      The Material Handler is responsible for staging and moving raw material and finished goods to and from loading docks, storage and warehouse areas. This individual will load and unload shipments according to documentation and work procedures as well as participate in inventory processes.

      Line Operator Trainee


      The Line Operator Trainee will be responsible for running one line while undergoing training on additional equipment in the department. They will also be required to anticipate job changes and assist line operators and technicians at change over with stringing the line, pulling plastic and other tasks as necessary.

      Must be able to work 12 hour shifts, every other weekend and overtime, as required.
